WELCOME!
This blog consists mostly of common sense responses to happenings (news articles, political events, etc) that just cry out for someone to say "WHOA! Hang on a second, here!" Too many people get away with just inventing their own facts as they bull-rush their way through an argument.

Unless you're dodging a taxicab or sidestepping a falling gargoyle, it's usually wise to take what time is available to evaluate and apply actual common sense. Good, old wisdom. It is, of course, my opinion, but I'll try to show why I think it's factual.
Thomas Paine said, "To argue with someone who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead." ... but I argue with drunks, egomaniacs, anti-gun Statists, Socialist/Keynesians and climate-fraud peddlers, too.

**PLEASE share this around. I didn't research, consider, write and post this junk just to have it hidden.
And feel free to comment.**

Jewish creativity:

If I wasn't so enraged by the actual events, I'd think it was hilarious. Maybe later. In the meantime, it's actually as accurate as can be, in a comedic presentation!

California quits America

Progressive Democrats just passed AB1934, which infringes on peaceful citizens’ Constitutional rights. Basically, they want citizens to be disarmed.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The Second Amendment to the Constitution is just 27 words. Only two things might not be immediately clear in 2010. One is the term “Arms”, which simply means working, effective firearms. The other is the Founders’ concept of “Militia”. In hundreds of letters and diaries, framers of the Constitution agreed with judges and other leaders. They were clear that “militia” simply means the people of the United States, willing to defend themselves, their States and the United States (i.e. the Constitution). There is no narrower meaning, such as chartered, regimented, uniformed, government troops.

Then as now, people must pursue a livelihood, whether that means tanning hides, growing crops and building wagon wheels, or making computer chips, growing crops and building rocket assemblies. But they need to be able to practice (“regulate”) to be safe and effective, so they must be able to carry and use guns individually, on their own schedules. Thus, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed”. The Supreme Court has already ruled that this applies to all 50 states.

History shows us facts. Where law abiding citizen have guns, crime is minimal. Where guns become regulated and restricted, crime always increases. You see, criminals by definition, don’t obey laws, including gun bans. One of the first things that every dictator does is to restrict gun ownership by the people. Where they can get away with it, they ban them altogether. Every Communist and Socialist (including National Socialist or “NAZI”) regime started this way.

Yet, Assembly members Saldana and Ammiano want to further restrict possession of guns in California, already among the worst offenders against the 2nd Amendment. Ammunition is already unconstitutionally restricted, as is most “open carry” (visible in a holster). Arizona, where guns are common on lawful hips, has drastically lower rates of violent street crime; aside from illegal alien activity.

California AB1934, which just passed along party lines, not only violates the Constitution, it threatens American Citizens with subjective or random authority for arrest. Arizona’s new SB1070 was written to avoid vague or biased arrests of Illegal Aliens. Yet the same Sacramento Democrats who support a boycott of that State will now subject California citizens to them:
“(c) A peace officer may arrest a person for a violation of
paragraph (6) of subdivision (b) if the peace officer has probable
cause to believe that the person is not listed with the Department of
Justice pursuant to paragraph (1) of subdivision (c) of Section
11106 as the registered owner of a handgun, and one or more of the
conditions in subparagraph (A) of paragraph (6) of subdivision (b) is
met…”

AB1934 is also among the worst crafted bills ever concocted. It does not rival the so-called “health care” monstrosity, but Saldana & Ammiano made it as confusing and ambiguous as possible:
“(b) This section shall not be construed to authorize or ratify any
picketing or other informational activities not otherwise authorized
by law.
(c) Section 12027 shall not be construed to authorize any conduct
described in paragraph (1) of subdivision (a), nor shall subdivision
(b) of Section 12031 be construed to authorize any conduct described
in paragraph (2) of subdivision (a), nor shall subdivision
(g) (d) of Section 12037 be construed to
authorize any conduct described in paragraph (5) of subdivision (a)…”

Even with 30 years of experience as a cop and training officer, I would not be able to wade through this and the other 16 pages of cross-referenced garbage (plus related sections) to quickly determine a legal gun possession in California.
Setting aside the convoluted double-talk, since when does government “authorize”, “ratify”, or “endorse” the lawful conduct of Americans’ individual rights? All of our peaceful behavior is guaranteed, except when it violates laws based in necessity. Free speech is endowed by our Creator. So is gun possession, which has been proven by 234 years of American history to be more protective than dangerous to lawful citizens.

As a Police Officer, I swore to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California, against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” The Constitution includes all its amendments, including the Bill of Rights. The Constitution, like my oath, has no expiration date.

Legislators take the same oath. California may NOT disarm Americans.
"The beauty of the second amendment, is that we shall never need it, unless they try to take it away" ~ Jefferson.

Israeli Defense Forces ambushed at sea

The now-infamous Israeli "assault" on a "peaceful, humanitarian mission" to Gaza has gone viral. Too many, mostly from the left, have jumped on the "massacre of civilians" bandwagon.
The blockade of Gaza is three years old and well-known to area shipping. The Mavi Marmara was warned of the closure and arrangements to deliver any legitimate cargo via the approved land routes was offered. The terrorist advocates refused and were boarded.
There were 50 known terrorist associates along with their fan club of Socialists (as in National Socialists - Nationalsozialisten - NAZIs?) on board and they surrounded and jumped the IDF Marines as they descended, one at a time, holding Paintball guns with pepper balls. Pepper balls (tear gas) and flash-bangs ("stun grenades") are what American SWAT teams use to take citizens into custody with less chance of injury or death. The pacifists then tried to beat them to death with metal rods, Molotov cocktails, knives, etc (and somehow, IDF [Israeli Defense Force] troops got shot with non-Israeli ammo). One was beaten unconscious and tossed overboard without his life vest.
Only when it became obviously life-threatening was permission given to use their sidearms (pistols) to defend themselves. Even so, one Marine is seen still trying to use his paintball gun.
Let me assure everyone that IDF knows how to "fast-rope". This is a technique whereby multiple lines allow up to four soldiers to descend from a helicopter at a time, automatic weapons at the ready, in less than 3 seconds. An entire 16 man squad is on the ground in less than 30 seconds. Normally, they'd have at least 2 helicopters discharging at once, on both ends of a ship. My guess is, Israel will not repeat the error of assuming a benign "humanitarian" crew on a ship to Hamas in Gaza.
Little in the way of arms has been found aboard the ship thus far. While more may turn up, it would not be unreasonable for a "scout" ship (loaded with "civilians" and film crews) to test the system without expecting to deliver much. Already, at least four other ships are reported to be enroute to challenge the blockade. Two more are in Malta. Hamas is running low on Qasam and Katyusha rockets, explosives and AK-47 ammo to kill Israeli civilians.

UPDATE - 6-10-10: WhiteHouse reporter Thomas said that "Jews need to get the hell out of Palesitine" and "go back to Germany and Poland". She refers to the places where 6 million Jews were murdered in the main NAZI holocaust, plus millions more by Soviets and other Communists after WWII. "Palestine" is the name given to part of Judea by Philistines ("Goliath"?) when they invaded around 1300 BC. That was about the same time as a major Hebrew immigration, following their first arrival around 1800 BC. Jews have been there ever since, and gave Gaza to the Palestinian people ten years ago, when they renounced violence against Israel before electing Hamas to power with their calls to "wipe out" every Jew.
ALSO, new evidence (http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/06/08/reuters-fake-photos-ihh-gaza-blockade-commandos/) shows that Reuters photos were “creatively” edited. They were cropped very closely, to avoid showing people the knives that were being held over bleeding IDF Marines. What “mainstream” news programs and papers showed the world look like injured soldiers being helped by peace activists. The unaltered pictures show knifed Jews being dragged off by their attackers.

Parade of ignorance, or of dishonesty?

There is no doubt that Arizona’s SB 1070 is controversial. The question is where does all that controversy come from? We are told over and over that the law is motivated by racism, creates intolerance, promotes profiling, targets Mexicans, and encourages harassment; a whole list of evil things. Liberal leaders from Molina to Pelosi, Baca to Holder, Villaraigosa to Obama proclaim that the law is “unconstitutional” and “anti-immigrant”.

Now the L.A. County Board of Supervisors has joined the parade on a rhetorical call to boycott Arizona, along with San Francisco, L.A. and a few others. I say “rhetorical” because among L.A.’s imports from Arizona are 24% of electricity and much of our water; exports include thousands of our jail inmates. None of these are being returned to sender. The boycott is political, not legalistic or humanitarian, because these billion dollar contracts will not be canceled. It will probably hurt the little guy, Arizonans of every race who run small businesses to raise their families.

On May 28th the Congressional Hispanic Caucus jumped on the bandwagon. Your "representatives" sent a letter (on nice, taxpayer-funded stationery!), demanding that the Department of Homeland Defense cut ties with he State of Arizona, because the adoption of SB1070. It appears that this group is "ignorant" of Constitutional and legal responsibilities of government.

When pressured, virtually every detractor states that they never actually read the actual law. Officials say they have never even been briefed on it. How can this be? Why would they attack an American State without knowing any facts? Because, if they did, they would be pinned down by its language. SB1070 specifically prohibits every one of those nasty things, with penalties for violations. It actually strengthens federal and Constitutional protections for those investigated. It would be easier to mis-use any other law on the books, if some bad cop wanted to. Millions of Americans have read it for themselves, and various polls show that 51-78% understand and approve of SB1070. Other states are copying it.

So, it’s better for “leaders” and celebrities to claim ignorance, if they want to play up to illegal aliens and leftists. It’s likely that all of them studied SB1070 hoping to find flaws, so “ignorance” does not apply. Lying is the fact of the matter, to whether to promote Socialist ideology or protect lucrative deals. Their lies anger both humanitarians they have deceived and those that know the truth. They also promote the ongoing invasion of the U.S., access for terrorists, importation of drugs and guns, violent crime, and abuse - - of citizens and illegals alike - - by the human traffickers.

Excuse me, what day is it?

Today, Monday, May 31, was Memorial Day. It would have been impossible to tell from the front page of the Daily Bulletin. Here are the headlines from page one:

“A Dog’s Life” (dog show), “Baby Builders” (new playground), “C.I.M. Dorms Rebuilt” (prison repair), “Few Curbs on Pols’ Spending” (campaign finance), [and below the fold] “Summit to Address Logistics Future” (transportation) and “Vet’s Daughter Lives Up to Promise” (vets help vet graduate).

There were two letters to the Editor and a self-serving article by a desperate politician on back pages. I could find no stories about veterans or currently serving heroes. Nothing about how each of us got to be in the greatest, most generous Superpower in Earth’s history.

Thanks, Dad! Thanks, Uncles and brothers! Thanks, anonymous “101st Airborne” and “Pearl Harbor Survivor” guys that I passed on the road today. Thanks millions of men and women that sacrificed from 1775 through today to free us from tyrants, keep us free, end slavery, free our friends, free us from terrorists….

Thank God for you.
