WELCOME!
This blog consists mostly of common sense responses to happenings (news articles, political events, etc) that just cry out for someone to say "WHOA! Hang on a second, here!" Too many people get away with just inventing their own facts as they bull-rush their way through an argument.

Unless you're dodging a taxicab or sidestepping a falling gargoyle, it's usually wise to take what time is available to evaluate and apply actual common sense. Good, old wisdom. It is, of course, my opinion, but I'll try to show why I think it's factual.
Thomas Paine said, "To argue with someone who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead." ... but I argue with drunks, egomaniacs, anti-gun Statists, Socialist/Keynesians and climate-fraud peddlers, too.

**PLEASE share this around. I didn't research, consider, write and post this junk just to have it hidden.
And feel free to comment.**

Trying to “Dumb Down” the electorate.

In a July 6th Point of View, Richard Cohen of the oft-opining Washington Post explains why he changed his opinion of Colorado Democrat Michael Bennet. It seems that Senator Bennet’s stance at first appeared anti-Obama, or “the biggest jerk in Washington” as Cohen put it. Cohen then looked up his web page. That web page does not appear to state Bennet’s Party affiliation anywhere and tries to paint him as a Washington outsider. Doubtless, he’s trying to avoid the fate of so many pro-Left candidates this year. Cohen found that Bennet is a National Education Association supporter (rather than state/local controlled education, as the Constitution requires) and a Yale graduate. That made him tops with Progressive supporter Cohen, as would his support (carefully disguised on his page) of Obama’s “health care” takeover, stimulus (I and II), “cap and trade” energy nationalization, taxes and climate justice.

It seems that Cohen likes the Ivy-league educated, lifetime power, large-national-government crowd and disapproves of “dumb” citizens who dare to take up public service for a short term, as the Founders designed our Republic. These are the professorial/lawyerly types that are currently taking care of the still-leaking, still-spreading oil in the Gulf and our troops in Afghanistan. I guess Cohen hasn’t heard that the average Tea Party member has a higher I.Q., higher education and slightly higher standard of living than the national average. What they lack is an elitist demeanor: deciding that they know better than those annoying PEOPLE in every instance. They would do foolish things like following established procedures to protect Americans regardless of political ideology, enforce laws regardless of race or connections, and accept expert advice from those with experience in a given field.

How dumb is that?

Covering the trail

There has been much coverage of the Senate service, death and funeral of Senator Robert Byrd. Byrd’s service spanned 51 years (9 terms). He helped invent the “separation of church and state” (which does not exist in the Declaration of independence or Constitution) and loading bills with self-serving “pork” from taxpayers. Like Democratic “lions” Kennedy (47 years) and Murtha (36 years), Byrd passed away and was memorialized.

Byrd doubtless rendered many valuable services in his career. Mainstream media cites some and missed others. For one thing, Byrd declared honestly that the “reconciliation” process he created in the 70’s to quickly renew funding for existing programs, was mis-used by other Democrats to pass any major bill such as Obama’s massive “health care” (and student loan) takeover.

What most media somehow neglected completely, though, is that Byrd was an actual, card-carrying, hood-wearing member (and state leader) of the Ku Klux Klan. Not some Tea Party member that is called a "KKK" for protesting spending and debt or unsecured borders, but an actual militant racist. He wrote in a 1944 letter that, “I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds”. That was before the Progressive movement taught the Democrats to stop openly oppressing minorities and do it covertly, by controlling welfare. As Byrd said, “in the real world, exemplary personal conduct can achieve more than political agenda.”

The DNC family tree’s roots were the Southern delegates to the Continental Convention, preventing stronger condemnation of slavery in 1775, though most Founders hated the practice. They also thwarted abolition in the Constitution, 1787, settling for a 20 year phase-out of slavery. They forced postponement and abandonment of abolition with the Missouri Compromise (1820) and Republicans weren’t able to accomplish it until Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War (1863). Progress was made, though Democrats opposed desegregation and equal rights. Democratic President Wilson re-segregated schools and military that had been reasonably integrated until his administration (1913). The “Negro Project” was planned in the 1920's and organized under the pseudonym “Planned Parenthood”. Many remember Governor George Wallace and other Democrats blocking black school kids and equal rights marchers until Republican President Eisenhower sent in National Guard troops (1957). Byrd and others supported Wallace and filibustered against the Equal Rights Act of 1964.

Of course, nobody’s perfect.

More symptoms of the disease in D.C.

Democratic "representative" Pete Stark ignores reality, serious questions, constituents' dignity, and American sovereignty all in one shot. He acts like he's annoyed that his afternoon "bowl" has been interrupted by having to deal with the People.

Following Boxer's "hey, call me Senator" to a combat general (here) ,Murtha's overruling of clear votes against his wishes (here), Frank refusing to answer contituents' questions (all versions removed from YouTube), Ethridge manhandling and haranguing a student reporter on a public street (here) ,Waters admitting intent to seize private companies (here), Obama repeatedly disrespecting the National Anthem (here) and a seemingly endless stream of those that can't even control their mouths ("F" this and "S" that in U.S. government session in front of the world and its kids), it seems that we have a bunch of drunks or mean 4th graders* running the most powerful nation on Earth. And running it (economically, militarily and morally) into the ground like a lawn dart.

I haven't even gotten into Pelosi, Reid and Biden's "you gotta pass these [huge, incomprehensible, reckless and corrupt] bills to find out what's in them", or the profiteering going on with friends of Dodd, Frank, Rangel, Emanuel, ACORN, SEIU, et al.

We're getting into the "summer of recovery", when we're supposed to ignore resurgent unemployment, slowing economy and soaring debt, encouraged alien invasion, endless oil being ignored in the Gulf, declining world reputation, etc, and remember government givaways, empty promises and revisionist/Socialist history. Time to fumigate, sterilize and replace the whole mob. Then burn the clothes afterward. And bury them. With lye. And close the site.
REMEMBER IN N O V E M B E R ! !

*Apologies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders who have more integrity and control of their vocabulary than these and other "representatives".
