This is just a refresher in American government. (HINT: we do NOT have a democracy!)
...while all citizens get to vote equally, they elect representatives from their own ranks who temporarily fill the role of decision maker. They are then expected to return to private life and live among their constituents under the laws they have passed. We MUST get back to this original model!
